Double rainbow over Tainan has had marveled many onlookers with a big treat yesterday. It was most probably the second time, while the first happened on 2nd of July 2013.
Even when dusk is descending, everyone was never ready to leave.
Youngsters looked up with their hands candidly holding the mobile camera, instantly capturing rare shots of colorful double rainbow arching all the way over Greater Tainan.
I remembered vividly that day at dusk. It was unforgettable.
Dramatic scene like one could have photoshopped with HDR effect, but realistically not exaggerating.
Dark cumulonimbus clouds heavily above ground, with moderate gust wind from Southern afar, was on the verge of sending heavy downpour on the scorching hot days of Tainan Summer season.
But weather forecast overestimated the chances of precipitation. It only made it to a short drizzle; barely enough to moist your lips, but insignificant to wet your dry cottony t-shirt of the day.
As the soft clouds cleared its way for the lowering sunset at dusk, the twilight sky illumined into a magnificent golden hue, gloriously beaming its thin imperial yellowish rays of light onto every possible corners of Tainan City.
And it was that very moment of misty moist sky, when double rainbow appeared at the radiant dusk.
Days after, I met a friendly young man who was an amateurish photographer. We had a quick chat about that day of double rainbow and sunset in Tainan.
“Rarely” is the only specific word he used to describe the moment. I couldn’t agree more with him.
And today, it happens again with the double rainbow over Tainan.
Below sharing some beautiful shots of today, yesterday and on 2nd July 2013.
